First to provide you with the best quality education in the field of massage therapy that culminates in you receiving your license, and second to offer you the tools and opportunities listed below that are necessary for career development and assistance in securing employment.
GUEST LECTURERS
From time to time at American Academy you will be given the opportunity to listen and learn from some of the top businessman and women in the field of massage and wellness. It is our desire that during your course of study at AAMW you will not only be educated and enlightened in your specific career path, but that you will receive vital and relevant business training and guidance from some of the most successful business leaders in our community.
ACADEMIC ADVISING
American Academy offers academic planning and guidance for its students. It is our desire and mission that you are set up for success from day one, or from enrollment to employment.
FIELD TRIPS
From time to time, in order to enhance the curriculum and training you are receiving in the classroom, we will visit and tour massage and wellness facilities that will give you a snapshot of the industry and what is required to be successful once you graduate and become a Licensed Massage Therapist. These field trips will be provided to those who are in good academic and financial standing with AAMW.
JOB INTERVIEW PREPARATION
At AAMW we can assure you that you will be prepared for your very first job interview. Over the years, we have identified the number one issue for job candidates is a lack of preparation for their interview. Having operated and managed top massage locations, our faculty and staff can pinpoint for you exactly what these top locations are looking for in their candidates.
RESUME PREPARATION
As a student of American Academy, if you desire you will be provided assistance in preparing a professional resume for your job interview presentation.
MBLEX PREPARATION CLASSES
Once you near the completion of your curriculum and the Texas Department of Licensing & Regulations required 500 hours of training, you will receive 2 MBLEX Preparation Classes before you graduate.
JOB PLACEMENT SERVICE
While American Academy cannot guarantee you a job, we do offer a job placement service to assist you in securing your first job as a Licensed Massage Therapist. To qualify for the job placement service, you are required to have participated in Job Interview Preparation, Resume Preparation, Job Fairs and Field Trips.
